I'm going to pick my 7 songs of obsession at the moment .

1) The Dark Bridge by Elis - This song has been stuck in my head for weeks now. I even had to change my siggy to some lyrics.

2) The West Pole by The Gathering - Pure love .

3) Kingdom of Heaven by Epica - Just... too epic for words. I love my 13+ minute songs . Can't wait to see them in a month!

4) Straight and Arrow by Indica - They're better in Finnish, but this song is damn catchy.

5) Hearing Damage by Thom Yorke - Best song on the New Moon soundtrack .

6) Hollow by Theatre of Tragedy - Prettyness

7) Adore by Anneke van Giersbergen and Agua de Annique - Another pretty one . Anneke's so fierce.

Feel like I've spent the entire day explaining why certain things inspire me
  1. Nero Sighted - One of my favorite arrangements from the most recent Star Trek OST. It gets me so energized and frantic. It's amazing energy and holds the exact right amount of creepiness to inspire something a little bit darker from my personality.
  2. Sabotage by The Beastie Boys - Love the energy and pump it gives me. It pumps me up and gets me ready to do anything!
  3. Magical by Selena Gomez - The song for trying to find that place inside of you that can't really be touched. It's emotional while being logical and wishing with your entire body for something you know that can never happen to happen.
  4. And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going by Jennifer Holiday- This song is a religious experience and drives me to tears pretty much every time I listen to it. It inspires me to think... I don't know, that there's something greater out there.
  5. Don't Rain on My Parade by Barbra Streisand- Peppy, rebellious, and amazing. This song never fails to cheer me up and drive me to accomplish anything, regardless of what people tell me is and isn't possible.
  6. Don't Know Why by Norah Jones - Brutally honest. Can't really explain it, but when I need to be in that certain kind of mood to post the most heartfelt things I haven't yet experienced, this song can usually do the trick. It inspires me to not only acknowledge someone else's pain, but experience it for myself.
  7. The Wreckoning by Boomkat - I've loved this song since I heard it in Italian Job years ago. It inspires me to just work and strive and to depend on myself. It inspires me to be epic, pretty much

1) A Better Son/Daughter by Rilo Kiley [last.fm link]

This song is always on my list of songs that move me, etc. It came out in 2002, and I probably heard it in ’04, but it wasn’t until ’05 that it really affected me. Even now, on those really bad days it’s the only song that doesn’t grate on my nerves or affect me in a negative way. It reminds me that I always have to keep going and why; because eventually, it’ll be okay, and I’ll be happy.
But you'll fight and you'll make it through, You'll fake it if you have to
And you'll show up for work with a smile, And you'll be better
And you'll be smarter, And more grown up
And a better daughter or son, And a real good friend
2) This Is Everything by Tegan and Sara [last.fm link]

Tegan and Sara: my favourite band, my favourite non-famous celebrities. I honestly just feel so much better whenever I hear this song. Tegan always says Sara’s songs are deeper, but this one by Tegan is like a punch to the guts sometimes. It’s raw and beautiful.
I gave you everything
Gotta watch myself
I've gotta love myself
And take care
3) You’ll Never Walk Alone by Rodgers and Hammerstein [last.fm link]

I was raised on musicals and music in general. My favourites as a kid where the Rodgers and Hammerstein movies (except South Pacific), this one from Carousel has pretty much always been my favourite. I find that it still, to this day brings a smile to my face.
When you walk, Through a storm, Hold your head, up high
And don't be afraid, of the dark, 'Coz at the end of the storm, Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song, Of the lark
4) Days Like This by Van Morrison [last.fm link]

Van Morrison has an extremely soothing voice. This song has over the years, become a way of reminding myself that, well, it’ll be okay because there are days like these.
When no one steps on my dreams, there'll be days like this
When people understand what I mean, there'll be days like this
When you bring out the changes of how everything is
Well my mama told me, there'll be days like this
5) Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers [last.fm link]

One of my absolute favourite songs of all time. Every time I hear it, it hits me in the chest.
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone, only darkness everyday.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone,
And this house just ain't no home anytime she goes away.
6) Hold On by 72 [last.fm link]

I have no idea where I even found this song, I can’t find a single other thing by the band, but this song… just hurts so good.
I’ll never let you down, babe; I will hold you through the storm
I will always do the best I can, babe, your words I want and more,
You were all that I wanted, all that I always needed
7) Prelude in E Minor, Opus 28, No. 4by Frédéric Chopin [last.fm link]

^.^This piece of music just brings out my creative side (like most of Chopin’s pieces). It’s so beautiful and mellow and amazing.
instrumental

1) Azure Ray - "November"
Sometimes this song tells a story to me, sometimes it is just soothing to know that maybe it will be better, and sometimes it just the song I need to hear to make it another day.

But I turn them off and tuck them away 'till these rainy days that make them stay
And then I'll cry so hard to these sad songs and the words still ring, once here now gone
And they echo through my head everyday and I don't think they'll ever go away

2) Emmy The Great - "War"
It's a golden piece that just... Touches my heart. And the fact that it just ends like it does, it makes you want more. And hence, I can play it over and over again. The lyrics always inspires me as well.

The dream that I have is always the same
a foot falls like an echo of a step I didn't take
and I see you coming in like you were never gone,
tell me, why did I wake?

3) Stars - "Calendar Girl"
This song has been with me for quite some time. I remember sitting in my room at my parent's place listening to this. I remember it helped me through loads of emotional things. It still has a special place in my heart.

I dreamed I was dying; as I so often do
And when I awoke I was sure it was true
I ran to the window; threw my head to the sky
And said whoever is up there, please don't let me die

4) Peter Gabriel - "Here Comes The Flood"
One of the few songs that touches me so much it makes me cry. And it sort of... Is something about it. Can't really explain it.

Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry

5) To Be Juliet's Secret - All Angel No Wings
This is a band that is pretty... Obscure. But all the songs I have with them, they really touches my heart. I wasn't sure what song I was going to choose, but I remember this one being my first favourite. They have a real interesting way to portray songs and it just touches you.

Why did you have to break me down,
So badly this life?
Why did you have to run on a night,
Like this?
I thought, I made it so beautiful.
I tried, my best to make it perfect for you.
Because, you were always so perfect for me.

6) Beethoven - "Moonlight Sonata"
... I can't really explain why, but it both breaks my heart and touches it in ways I just... I just love this song really, and it is one of my favourite instrumental pieces of all time.

instrumental.

7) Train - "Drops of Jupiter"
This is my favourite song of all time.

Now that she’s back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there’s time to change, hey, hey, hey, hey

1. "Always" - Bon Jovi
Favourite song ever since I heard it like a gazillion years ago. Was my first ever single I bought on cd
It's been raining since you left me
Now I'm drowning in the flood
You see I've always been a fighter
But without you I give up
2. "Sweetest Goodbye" - Maroon 5
My god I can sing my heart out with this song. My favourite song of Maroon 5.
Where you are seems to be
As far as an eternity
Outstretched arms open hearts
And if it never ends then when do we start?
I'll never leave you behind
Or treat you unkind
I know you understand
And with a tear in my eye
Give me the sweetest goodbye
That I ever did receive
3. "Breath" - Breaking Benjamin
ehm have you heard the song? I mean seriously...
You take the breath right out of me.
You left a hole where my heart should be.
You got to fight just to make it through,
'cause I will be the death of you.
4. "In Loving Memory" - Alter Bridge
It's not one of my top favourites but I have my reasons to put it in this list.
I carry the things that remind me of you
In loving memory of
The one that was so true
Your were as kind as you could be
And even though you're gone
You still mean the world to me
5. "Call Me" - Shinedown
I have more favourites from them but this is the one I always loudly sing along with
I kept my whole life in suitcase,
Never really stayed in one place
Maybe that's the way it should be,
You know I live my life like a gypsy
6. "Supernatural" - Daughtry
Ehm well this one came close with Ghost of Me but they're both awesome songs!
But now it's too late, it's taking over me
It feels so supernatural and I'm pulled the other way
It's more than I can take and I'm losing hold of everything
And no matter how I try you know I can't deny
'Cause you feel so supernatural
7. "Far Away" - Nickelback
Can you read awesome lovesong here?
That I love you, I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me and you'll never go
Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore

1. Princes of the Universe-Queen

One of the best at least in my opinion Queen Songs ever written. Theme song of Highlander of course.

2. Living Dead Girl-Rob Zombie

Saw him perform it live once. Just like the song.

3. Spookshow Baby-Rob Zombie

4. Minstrel in the Gallery-Jethro Tull

5. The Mob Rules- Black Sabbath

6. The Man on the Silver Mountain- Richie Blackmores "Rainbow"

7. Bad Romance- Lady Gaga.

Had never even heard of her before the latest tourney in the WWD. Got partnered with one of the folks that playing her as a witch character. Reminds me of David Bowie back in the Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars days.

1 : Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold
I just love this song; no matter what mood I'm in, I can listen to it. If I'm having a bad day, good day or just a day where I really don't want to face the world, this song can sort it all out. Eva's voice is incredible and slightly haunting on this song.

I never made promises lightly,
And there have been some that I've broken,
But I swear in the days still left,
We will walk in fields of gold.

2 : The Corrs - Queen of Hollywood
The general sound of any song by The Corrs is enough for me to like it, but this one has had me hooked from the first day I listened to it. The more times I've listened to it, the more I can't help but feel so wistful every time I hear it now.

She's never gonna be like the one before,
She read it in her stars that there's something more,
No matter what it takes, no matter how she breaks,
She'll be the Queen of Hollywood.

3 : Faith Hill - There You'll Be
Faith Hill's voice is amazing and because I associate this song with the epic "Pearl Harbour", I just can't possibly not love this song. Though quite tender in its content, I always know how much better I feel after hearing it.

Well you showed me how it feels to feel the sky within my reach,
And I always will remember all the strength you gave to me,
Your love made me make it through,
Oh, I owe so much to you, you were right there for me.

4 : Bon Jovi - I'll Be There For You
Any Bon Jovi song reminds me of the friends who listened to them with me - and probably saw it as my obsession to have about five songs lined up on the jukebox straight away once we got to the pub. So happy memories from a few years ago are just a stone's throw away when Bon Jovi songs are around - good times!

I'll be there for you,
These five words I swear to you,
When you breathe I want to be the air for you,
I'll be there for you,
I'd live and I'd die for you,
Steal the sun from the sky for you,
Words can't say what a love can do,
I'll be there for you.

5 : Meat Loaf - Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through
I love the sound of this song; it's quite powerful and the lyrics are incredible. One of my all-time favourites by Meat Loaf, for sure.

You can't run away forever,
But there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start,
You want to shut out the night,
You want to shut down the sun,
You want to shut away the pieces of a broken heart.

6 : Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World
From way back in childhood, I remember this one. The first time I heard it, I was probably only about 5-6 yrs old and I've heard it again and again over the years. It's definitely a reminder of simpler days!

I see skies of blue and clouds of white,
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night,
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

7 : Shania Twain - Come on Over
I love most songs by Shania and I think this was one of the first (if not the first) I heard, so I figured I'd include this one just to make the decision of which to choose easier.

Make a wish-make a move,
Make up your mind-you can choose,
When you're up-when you're down,
When you need a laugh come around.

Halo by Bethany Joy Galeotti
I heard this song way before I got into One Tree Hill, so I was unaffected by all the fan reactions to this song and I feel in love. It's been one of my most played song ever since I discovered it.
I always said that I would make mistakes,
I'm only human, and that's my saving grace,
I fall as hard as I try
So don't be blinded
See me as I really am, I have flaws and sometimes I even sin,
so pull me from that pedistal,
I don't belong there.

Send it On by Disney Friends for Change
I remember waiting for this song to come out, I subjected myself to listening to the preview over and over and amazingly, I still adore it.
Send it on, on and on,
Just one hand can heal another,
Be a part, reach a heart,
Just one spark starts a fire,
With one little action the chain reaction,
Will never stop, make it strong,
Shine a light and send it on.

Shooting Star by Air Traffic
I was referred to this song through a podcast. I've listened to it since. I just love the lyrics!
You're a cutie if it all falls through,
We can piece it back together,
I can learn to trust you too.

Flying Machine by Everly
A fun song, something to sing along to, plus it has an ulterior meaning. Win.
Everybody wants your magic elixir,
Mix her and fix her,
Woah, that's a trick sir,
Hold onto your hat,
Watch out for black cats,
All this bewitching has taken my lover away.

We Belong by Everly
This for me was the next "Halo." As I mentioned above, I just fell in love with it the moment I heard it.
We Belong to the light
We Belong to the thunder
We Belong to the sound of the words
We've both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace

Kara Remembers by Bear McCreary
A.Freaking.Mazing. Whilst catching up with BSG, I just died when I heard this playing on the show. The piano, the constant tune is just amazing!
Instrumental

We'll Be A Dream By We The Kings feat. Demi Lovato
Just a sweet song <3
Do you remember the nights,
We made our way dreaming,
Hoping of being,
Someone big,
We were so young then,
We were too crazy,
In love.
