How to Donate

You might know that it's not free to keep a board on the internet, so if you're interested in helping us out by donating a small amount of money we will be very grateful. Of course we don’t expect more from you than what you can spare and it’s not an obligation, it's your choice. However, if you decide to donate please read the following carefully:

How can you donate?
It’s very easy; at the bottom of every page on the forum you'll find a paypal button and when you click on it it will lead you to a paypal page where you have to fill in a few things to process your donation. The minimum donation is €1 ($1,44). Don't forget to put your username in the transaction (there's a text field called Payment For: that's where you put your username) or we won't know who donated the money.

What do you need when donating?
To make the donation you need a credit card and a paypal account. If you're under age and you are using the credit card from your parents/guardians we ask you to ask permission from the credit card owner first, before you make a donation. If you're not under age and are using the credit card of someone else (i.e. your parents/guardians) we also ask you to ask permission first.

What do you get when you have donated?
- A custom AV (110x120)
- AV/Name Change credits for every euro you donate
- Not restricted to the 3 month waiting period for a name change.
- Your very own Email forwarder (yourname@midnight-shadows.org)
- Custom contributor title (Contributor under your AV)
- Access to the Contributor forum
- Access to extra schemes
- Listed on the Contributor List (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/contributors.php)

Can I donate for someone else?
Yes you can. Simply put their username into "Payment for" to make the donation in their name.

Can I give credits to someone else?
As long as they are a contributor as well you may. If they are not yet one, you cannot transfer your credits to them. You would have to consider making a donation in their name.

You can ask whoever you would like to donate for you. It really does not matter, as long as you have their consent. :nod:

Just a friendly reminder for you folks, that whilst we do appreciate your donations, it is not necassery for you to post here and tell us you have done so. Your donation will be received when Ellen processes things, and your account will be updated with the contributor status.

I just want to give a heads up that donations made from the 16th of July till the 26th of July will not be processed since I'm abroad and don't have access to my paypal account. I hope you can understand that and will be patient enough to wait till the 26th when I'm back and able to check up on donations ;)

I am currently working on the Donation list from TP. So everybody who donated on TP and is a WWD member will be added to our list. Since this is a big list I hope you can understand this will take a little time to process. We do our best to get it all done asap ;)

We retain credits from WWD members, yes. The thing is, we received a list from TP that is currently being applied to member accounts. Your name is likely to be on it (dunno off of the top of my head right now) and you might find yourself being a contributor within the next few hours.

If you had no credits left on TP, you won't regain contributor status on MS unless you donate again. Also be aware that all December we are granting double credits for every donation issued ;)

Debit cards should also work. Paypal requires either a debit or credit card in order to make the transactions from your bank account to the person/company you're paying.

If you have a Paypal account that is linked to your debit card you should be able to.

After your donation comes through you should be able to see a new forum at the very bottom of the board (above the Who's Online and PMs and all that stuff) that is just for Contributors. You will request your custom avatar in that forum. :nod:

I received a donation from somebody who didn't fill in a username so I can't process the donation until that person comes forward and tells me for who it is meant.

Donation has been made on january 12th 2008. Please contact me if you donated on that day.

In the comment bit next to the amount you wish to donate on paypal, it's usually just your MS board name but if you PM Ellen or Chrissie with the email address that you have for paypal, they'll be able to find your donation that way ;)

A debit visa works for signing up through Paypal. However, all donations to the board much be sent via Paypal.

The exact nature of the perks you get depends on the amount of money you donate. 1euro=1credit=1 avatar OR 1 username change (but not both). So if you donate 12 euros, that would mean you would have 12 credits available to you.
