ADA Meeting #221

So a revamp, another one yes. Why you might ask? Well it’s quite simple, ADA needed a boost especially since we saw all the members flocking away to never been seen again. We lost our touch, we lost what we were about and we decided to get that back. We heard many people say that they missed the old ADA, how things were done before the revamp and how much fun it was playing back then. How it didn’t feel a requirement to post but just feel like posting when you were in the mood and do hilarious things.

So we decided to be bold, we decided to bring back as much as we could from the old ADA. Forum setups, names and foremost, the Species (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=3894). Yes you read it right we brought back the species. Old ones, new ones but they are back and ready for you to be used.

We even changed the rules (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?p=154342#post154342) so I suggest you read them through carefully and another thing that has changed are the promotion guidelines (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?p=152367#post152367). It sounds all very exciting doesn’t it?

What does this change mean for all of you? Well for one you need to pick new powers (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=3879) and a species of course. This time around it won’t be hard because with each promotion you activate one of your species power and you pick a Talisman with it. We even brought back another old acquaintance, The Dark Apothecary. Yes you have to start requesting your powers IC now and endure endless pain when receiving them *insert evil laugh*.

Anyways enough chatter for now, I suggest you lot go roam through the new and hopefully improved ADA and if you have any questions, remarks you can post them in here and we’ll answer them the best we can :D

The species / powers you do have already you just state in the Roster. No reapproval / regranting needed here.

No you activate your specie power with each level, so you have one specie power and one talisman with each promotion. So in your case you already have the first two specie powers and two talismans, when going to level 3 you need to pick a breed (since the species are divided in breeds as well) and you activate your level 3 power and then you pick an additional Talisman ;)

You don't pick powers, you get the powers of the species and you pick the talisman to complement it. The previous rule no longer applies. You get your species power at every level you make, and add a talisman to it. You have to take the species power. There is no way around it.

you can write a new bio if you want and you can pick a new scope if you want as well, if you're keeping some of the old powers as talismans you don't need to get them approved, the new ones yes :nod:

If you feel you need to redo it completely, Jen, then you do that. If not you just keep the one you do have. Edits are needed though once you picked species and breed to reflect that choice in your bio set up.

I simply remember being a much better fighter at a Level 1/2 than I ever was at a 3/4. :shrug: Instead of pushing my limits to their maximum effectiveness, I just got used to what would be thrown at me and how to counter them. Once I got enough powers if got to be too easy in a way. :-p For a while I'd only fight 5/6/7's. :lmao:

Although now I'm just crazy/suicidal enough to take on 6/7's for the sheer fun of it. (A) Again, I'm eying you, Warlords. :hehe:

In any case, congrats to all involved in the revamp. It looks awesome. :D It's got that great old-school feel with a lot of fun new twists. The fact that Thread is a talisman now makes me very happy indeed. :shifty:

Also, I don't think picking your old species makes you boring, Christmas. It makes you nostalgic. :) I have to admit that I was sorely tempted to go for Chaos Demon again and I might yet still after the tournament. Who knows?

I love the revamp and I love that species are back :). I never got to try it out, as I was in FGB, but I really like the look of all of them. Took me longer to figure out what one I wanted than it actually did to write a three page bio xD

Also, congrats on all the Warlords for completing everything so nicely. It's a good thing to see species back and an old concept (the breeds idea was planned well before the merge but turned out scrapped in favour of the Sins) put into such great fruition. Great job guys!

The solution is to hire one or two (or three or four - depending on growth and promotion rates) to do the DA posts as they come in. Do a post every promotion or so. That way there's no backlog and you managerial people have one less thing to worry about. Just make sure the people you give the responsibility to are up the task in terms of reliability.

Are you kidding that was my swan song for Brietta v1 (Brietta v2 was in OTCT and Brietta v3 is in EC). I love that girl, and she went out swinging. I think I still have a copy of that on my personal comp. It was a great battle, and then I made it rain on the house as I left.

It was the fight that made me reget restarting and killing of Brietta. Good times.

It contains information on rule clarifications / changes that have been discussed amongst the leaders of WWD and now are added to the rulebook. I am saying because my previous bio was accepted but I was not promoted, therefor I am not sure if it was accepted on the first place, so now I am not sure if it will be accepted again if I will only edit instead of creating a new one or not?

Ha. Serves me right for updating the roster at like all times of the day and never at decent ones :-p No, I am afraid Pendants are a no-go for WWD. Talismans can be picked from the Talisman-list only ... Pendants are different kinds of powers. Hence calling it the "Talisman" list.

Kieran will also have to pick a new lv2 talisman.
