Getting Started
A Little Coven 101
Welcome
Welcome to the Academy of Demonic Arts.
You know you're a member, when you can post in these forums.
Please go to your User Profile (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/profile.php?do=editprofile) and edit your coven field to "ADA - T" (T for Trainee).
The management / leaders of this game are the ADA lv7s. There are several names they go by. Current correct one is: Council (others include TUEs, Warlords, and possibly more)
First Steps
It is highly suggested that at first you read the WWD Rules/Guidelines (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=2491).
Next up, you should take the time to read through the Premise (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=2407) of ADA. It gives you details about what exactly ADA is (story-wise).
Once you're done that, it's time to write a biography.
Writing a Biography
At first you are required to create a character and write a biography for him / her.
Check out existing biographies as listed on the ADA Character Page (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/rpg.php?do=view&what=chars&id=4) to get an idea of what we're looking for.
To write a complete biography you need to pick a demonic species (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=3894).
This will determine what type of demon your character can become, and determines part of the possible powers you can choose from.
Choose carefully. The only way to change specie is restarting from Trainee Level.
To submit the bio, you should use the Biography Set Up (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/biography.php?do=setup&rpg=4) page for ADA.
Do not PM the bio to Council members.
The biography is approved when you see the character's name appear in your posts in the ADA forum, and when you see it listed on the ADA Character Page (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/rpg.php?do=view&what=chars&id=4). Your level 1 promotion will then be posted by a Council member in a meeting.
Until your promotion is officially stated, you remain at Trainee Level.
The Legions of Hell
Legions of Hell no longer exist in their "must join one", "all ADA is separated into Legions" kind of way.
Instead it is up to a Council Member or one of the Masters to create official factions which members are either invited to or may join freely.
Getting Promoted
Check out the Promotion Guidelines (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=3790) for a guide about promotion requirements.
A promotion is official when it is publicly posted in one of the meetings.
A promotion is complete after you post your choice of powers in The Apothecary (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=3791) and a Dark Apothecarist has granted you those powers with an IC post.
ADA's Power System
For more information about what you get to choose when, refer to ADA's Power System (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=3924)
Choose your Species, Breed and Talismans carefully. Changing them at a later point in time may turn out to be difficult.
In order to retrain for powers you've chosen and had approved, please check out the Stygian Hall (ADA Retraining Programme).
Using your powers in WWD
Upon promotion you have to request your powers in the Dark Apothecary.
Once a Dark Apothecarist has given you your powers you need to post them in the Member Roster (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=5592), only then may you use them in WWD.
Jobs & Activities
Check out the ADA Job System (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=3789), to see which positions are available and how to apply for a job.
The council highly encourages active participation as an ADA staff member.
Please note that recently the entire system's been overhauled. Old jobs are going and new ones are being added to account for the changes the coven is going through.

The Academy - Roleplaying and fighting that is member initiated. Please state clearly which of the two you focus on (if a focus applies).
The Stygian Halls - Official training, Gift fights, retraining of powers, etc. Any training activity that is run by an ADA staff member.
Tartarus' Order - Events and activities. Tournaments, roleplaying events and the like (initiated by ADA staff) happens here.
Hellfire Café - Places to hang out and have some casual fun.
The Library - Here is where your Book of the Damned (character journal) belongs.
WWD Forums
Academy of Demonic Arts - The ADA's coven forums. All ADA members and lv7s are invited to post.
The Forces of Good - The FGB's coven forums. You may browse and read, but must not post inside their forums unless given official permission.
Fight Club - Fighting arenas. New locations are started by lv7s / employees.
One on One - Challenge an FGB member. New threads are started by the fighters.
On Holy Grounds - Joined Training activities, run by both, ADA and FGB.
War Tactics - Continuous battle between ADA / FGB.
The Initiation - Roleplaying training for new and not so new members.
Playgrounds - Recreational threads outside ADA or FGB. New locations are started by lv7s / employees.
Vision Quest - Play out storylines with FGB members.
The Dont's
Breaking the PG-13 rule.
Posting in the FGB forum without being a member of FGB.
Harassing or offending other players personally.
Taking in-character comments / actions personally.
Trying to change covens when you're not eligible to do so.
Stealing content or images from ADA / WWD and plagiarizing them on your own website.
Sharing accounts to gain access to hidden forums.
Failing to report that you see forums you must not have access to (level 6/7 forums, employee forums).
