I'm so shocked to see that there is not a Charmed thread, so I had to post one here. So let's start discussion. Who watches it? How long? Since when? Do you have the DVDs? Any questions about? etc? Talk away people I'm obsessed with the show, and I'm sure there are more people like me in here.

I first watched it when I realized I could stay up on Friday nights. Haha. I watched it for quite a while, until I just had other things to do, and they aired on weekdays (nights) which made it impossible for me to watch. Initially, my fave character was Prue, and then when she died, it became Paige.

Hm. I'm in love with this show too, but I won't be 'obsessed'.

I love the earlier seasons of Charmed as opposed to the later episodes. After Wyatt's birth I think a lot of things that I loved about the show went downhill and so I ended up hating his addition to the show. There was too much focus on the 'prophecy child' of a Charmed One and a Whitelighter... then if you watch, he has like 15 powers that I counted! I mean, he was more fricking powerful than the Charmed Ones...

So it was all "What's the point in the Power of Three anymore? Just throw the kid at it!" Season 6 was by far the worst season imho. I was hoping it would end there but Season 7 came along and I grew worried over the show's future... however, Season 7 and 8 pulled together and made the show better than it was but not quite reaching the status it had earlier.

I think it started at Season 5 to go downhill... and I don't blame Paige, she was an awesome character. Though Prue was cool too all the sisters have had their moments of favourites for me. Earlier on it's Phoebe, middle it was Prue, the Paige in the beginning. At the end Piper was and remained.

I loved this show!!

I have to say that Phoebe was my favourite character, or Phoebe as the youngest sister was my favourite. I loved how she enjoyed being a witch and just naturally stepped into that role. I loved Phoebe best with Cole! He was such an amazing character that was spoiled due to the amount of times he was brought back. Because these are my favourite couple I loved Season 3 and beginning of Season 4 the best.

For me Piper has the most amazing powers. I love her quirky wit and sarcasm! She's just great and her character, unlike Phoebe's in my opinion, didn't get lost when she became the older sister.

My favourite episode was All Hell Break's Loose. Prue was amazing in this episode and although not my favourite person, she really missed her potential at playing an evil character. I thought her anger at Piper's shotting was well played.

I was sad when the show ended but I think it was time :)

Who can't love charmed? I hated charmed in season 6 onwards it made no sense to me but still Its charmed and no matter how bad it got (even season 8 bad) I would still watch it.

Charmed is practically my life! I first started watching it half way thorugh the second season. When I realized that they had reruns of the show on a different channel, I tuned in so I could see the whole thing from the beginning.

My favorite character is Phoebe, always has and always will be. Alyssa Milano did an amazing job portraying Phoebe and I love her for it. Phoebe's appeal to me was that she was the one most interested in being a witch at the beginning and in later seasons foucsed more on her work then on magic. I agree that the show started to go downhill at Season 5 but I still love the show. I own seasons 1-6 on dvd and watch them almost constantly.

I love Charmed! Although season 7 and onwards will never be as good as 1-5, I still enjoy it very much. Paige is my favorite, followed by Piper. Awesome show I think it had something going for it. To bad it was treated poorly and had to suffer from a bad writters and staff. When Charmed was good though, it was good!

When Charmed was good though, it was good!

So very true.

Season 6 rolled around and I found I just wanted to :gunfire: the writer's for butchering a show that had been so awesome, yet I suffered through it, as a fan... because I had to see how it ended. Then we were given Season 7 and I found even though I was still forcing myself to watch it began to take it's focus away from Wyatt - which ruined the show for me when it was on Wyatt - and place it back where it belonged, on the sisters. The Charmed Ones. Though that Season Finale.... :shakehead: It was.... lame. I did not like it at all.

Though when a show was good, it did shine through for the rest of us. Which made it so much better and kept us somewhat hopeful that Brad Kern and the others would salvage what was left of the show. :-p

I've been watching Charmed since I was like 8 or so. I have always loved the magical and power aspect of the show, but the show always satisfied me, except when they took Phoebe's powers away. That really pissed me off. xD

I actually cried on the finale. :( It was so sad to know it was ending. [/emotion]

I've watched forever! :-p

It was good in the beginning. There was so much chemistry at the start of the show. It was different! I have bought the first five seasons and plan on stopping. It started a change and from then on was never different. I thought it was brilliant killing off the oldest sister and making it all change. The show was so promising from that point but in a way they killed it from then on. The only thing that kept me watching through season six, seven and eight must have been the ending or what would happen. There's just a clear division between the fan base. You either go for it from the start [S1 - S4] or the end [S5 - S8]. I'm one of the addicted who enjoyed it from the start.

ETA: It still was a decent show.

Oh, I have watched every episode to the last one. I bawled with the last episode, because I couldn't believe, it was over, after 8 years.

I still ship for Cole and Phoebe, they were amazing together! And of course Piper and Leo. Oh, I miss that show, so much, thankfully TNT plays all the episodes, over and over again.

I thought the Series Finale was great! I cried too.

This was probably the first series that dealt with the supernatural that I was really into. I didn't even get into it till Prue died. I would watch it here and there but it was the episode when Piper becomes a Fury that turned the page for me and I watched it when I could. Of course one of my dreams is to buy all the seasons on DVD... but I don't have the money :(! One day though I will!

I would have to say that I my favorite relationship was with Piper and Leo. All of that heartache yet they continue on! That's true love right there. I wish though that the show explored the Cupe/Phoebe plot a bit more... that looked like it would be so cute!

I actually didn't know about Charmed until season 2. I was like 6 or 7 when it came out and I was like what low have they sunk to now? And watched my cartoons. Then my dad got me into Who's the Boss and I started liking actual shows and he was watching Charmed one night and I found it interesting. I mean I've seen almost every single episode from season 1 through I'd say mid season 6. I've watched 7 and 8 but since 6 the show began to lose what it was about and bored me senseless. It was about three sisters, the most powerful witches in existence who saved the innocent and fought against evil. And for the first 4/5 years that's what they did and then it no longer made any sense to me. It was like personal gain was no longer in effect and with Wyatt and Chris I felt there was no sense any more.

I have to say 2-4 were my absolute favorite seasons. I liked Prue more than I liked Paige, especially in the last season when she all those quirky comments like in 'Blinded By the Whitelighter' she said to Natalie "Piper froze ya! Yup!" And the goofy looks mixed with Prue's seriousness gave her a dark and emotional side mixed in with a natural bubbly and fun side that we rarely got to see.

My favorite characters were tied for the most part, though I think Alyssa did very well with Phoebe in the first few seasons. She portrayed her so well as the young flaky sister, easily seduced by evil. And after Piper grew out of her shy phase in season 3 I fell in love with Holly's character from season 3 until about season 5. So it was 3 seasons for each but I just love Alyssa more. But shh don't tell Holly. :( [/obsessedteen]

I started watching it back in the first season, in 1998. It's been my favorite show ever since, but it was season four when I really got excited about it. That was my favorite season (Piper and Paige are my favorites), followed by season three.

I watched Charmed all the way through the series finale in season eight, despite the deteriorating storylines and the monumental beating that Kern gave the series. (*sigh* So much potential...lost.)

What else? Oh yes! I'm an avid Wyatt (a.k.a. "Super Boy") and Chris hater. And Billie. Man, I despised her almost as much as Wyatt.

And I own seasons one (I pre-ordered it), two (birthday present), and five (I hated S5, when "Super Boy" came on scene, but I needed the DVD for a school project so that's why I wasted my money on it).

I'm obsessed with the show, and I'm sure there are more people like me in here.

And despite my hatred for what happened in the later seasons, I still live and breathe Charmed. :orb:

I loved and still love the show. To which I have to say that season 4-8 were the best I'd seen, only because of the difference of Piper and the seduction of Paige. Phoebe was wicked and I did love the love part of herself. I'm hoping to get all DVD's soon to enjoy nights in and memories of those nights watching the episodes for the first time

This show was amazing! I think it will live on for years, and it should :) Piper and Leo were incredible, the 'modern' fated love. Henry did finally tame Paige's wild side a bit; he became her rock. And it's kinda ironic to me that Phoebe actualyl fell in love with Love.

I wouldn't be so concerned about season 8, in my opinion its one of the worst out there. It deviated from the girls way too much, and as the budget went down the drain so did the quality of not only the show, but alot of the actors. An unfortunate end to a great show.

It also brings the end of an series. Had they stuck with season 7 and cancelled season 8, I would have been much more happy with the out come, though.. honestly they could have stopped with 6. The story lines and budget reflected far too much in the show from then onwards.

I finally watched all of season 8 on DVD. It was better than I remembered, but it my least my favorite season. I don't know...it didn't capture all of the things that Charmed was about. It was more like a spin off series that kept the same cast. I think season 8 could have been the best season ever, but it just didn't come out right. I don
t hate the season, because I loved the final episodes. Once Christy came into the scene the show got really good. Still, no matter how I feel, I was still sad to see Charmed go in Forever Charmed. It was sad, even though I had seen the episode before lol. I miss the show, but I'm glad it is over because really I think a season 9 would have actually killed the show beyond repair.

I so agree with you on ending it at season six!

I would have been fine with them ending the show at season five, only they did the whole goddesses part which wouldn’t have been a good ender. If they would have made that finale actually worth it, then yes!

The show started to go down midway during season five. There were really good episodes, but then there were horrible ones. A least favorite of mine being that season finale. It just wasn’t Charmed.

If only the show had kept up the first four seasons, and some episodes in season five. Like, there were some really corny episode ideas in season five, but the writing made it blend into witchcraft.

I just think they needed to go about it all differently!

The appeal for me was the dark aspect which was present in the first four seasons. The characters never really made or broke the show for me like it did with most of the people I know. It was the storylines. I didn't even watch Season 8 except for some random episode and the series' finale. I definitely think they should have ended things with Season 7. Even though the ending didn't tie things up, it was brilliant because all the sisters ever wanted was a normal life and that was what they would have had.

I don't have any of the seasons on DVD, except Season 5. I just wanted it for the season finale with Drew Fuller. :-p Been thinking about getting Season 6 too just for him.

Season Two was definitely my favorite. I loved the glimpses into their past and future lives. It was just a nice time to be into Charmed, the story wasn't stupid and obviously it ended us with one of the biggest changes in the show. The mood was also semi-dark for Charmed, thus good!

It was hard for me to choose between season three and four. I think they're both really great, it just I'm not sure. So if we didn't choose one, season four would definitely be tied with it. LOL.

I'm so with you on the whole Shannen Doherty over Rose McGowan.

I've bouth the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and eighth season. The first four were classic, and I will stand up and say that Rose McGowan was amazing. It actually felt as if it were the best that classic Charmed could be without Shannen Doherty. The fifth was when the story started to go wonky, but they still had decent episodes, and the eight is just purely to have the actual ending in my little hands. It's just an awkward thing with Charmed. You either hate it, or love it, and it always depends on which season is discussed. :D

I was going to stop buying the dvds at the end of the fourth season as I'm perfectly fine with the whole Angel of Destiny allowing the sistsers to choose to move on from all of the good they've done. In my opinion that would've been a better series finale than the one they actually gave us. But you win some you lose some. I just think they should've let it all open by saying that the sisters choose to continue as witches as it's their destiny. Instead they gave us a cookie cut image showing us that everything comes out alright.

My problem with Seasons 5 - 8 is that the whole focus of the show changed, to more of a classic fantasy element (e.g. fairies, titans, leprechauns) instead of what they did in the first four with actual, original demons. I think they lost some of their creativity throughout the years. I think ending it after the fourth season would have been an amazing time.

I seriously believe Charmed went for eight seasons to one up Buffy and to have the milestone. I saw the series finale and it sucked. Just like the ending of the Harry Potter series I could have done without knowing about the rest of the trio's lives. Epilogues are unnecessary for some things, you just need an open ending. The Charmed ending was so cheesy and when Phoebe and Paige had their kids it didn't feel real to me

I can see Charmed doing that, too bad Buffy was a much better show. Buffy had much more critical praise than Charmed.

In my opinion Charmed is a good show, but it's not a great show. After a few seasons it lacked the originality that made it popular to begin with, whereas Buffy was able to maintain the thing that made it special to begin with.

I liked the series finale, because it showed us that Piper had her little girl she saw in the future and she finally had her dream business, a restaurant. With Phoebe, we finally saw her married to Mr. Right, so to speak and not only did she her future little girl, she had two more along the way.

Paige I thought was funny, because she had twin girls. Her future wasn't much of a surprise because she was already married and she never saw herself with kids in the future.

I take Seasons 6 & 7 don't appeal to you?

Yeah. I mean I’ll watch for the sake of watching reruns on TNT, but it’s not my cup of tea. I felt the show went from being about the bond between three sisters and the darkness that they have to overcome to being about who can look the prettiest and what is the new cool mishap with magic or demon. Especially since due to the budget demons from them on weren’t really made up. I mean demons that are just people dressed in all black aren't very terrifying.

I get they had a lower budget as the series went on, but you could’ve still gone in many directions. The introduction to Leslie and all of the several guest stars that we’ve had wasn’t really useful. It just seemed everything changed. I mean we’ve seen that Charmed can pull off the whole ‘fairy tale’ theme perfectly in Once Upon A Time. Something just drastically changed in the style and perception of the show. I mean the whole 'sisters going up against pirates' what it this? Not my show.

I can see Charmed doing that, too bad Buffy was a much better show. Buffy had much more critical praise than Charmed.

Oh, snap! Don’t even get me started. Charmed’s series finale was nothing compared to Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I mean there are obviously haters on both end of the spectrums, but it just wasn’t near it. It had us guessing and in a way really didn’t end as the perfect story we’ve all known. There was tragedy, yet, still a confidence that it was ok and that the story would move on. It left us with an open ending to eventually whatever we desired. Of course excluding the comics as season eight that are coming out now.

I didn't even watch Charmed's series finale. But if you just look at both of the shows as wholes, Buffy was a much better show.

It might sound really, really pathetic but Charmed was a bit part of my life. I started watching when I was 6 years old, and I’ve been a fan ever since. It was the first show that I started watching religiously. The first episode I remember watching was the 2nd of Season 1 – ‘’The Eyes Have It’’ and it scared the crap out of me haha but I tuned in every week after that and have since seen every episode.

I agree with everyone that the first 3 seasons were easily the best, and even up to Season 5 it was still a great show. Piper was always my favourite sister, with Prue coming a close second. I was devastated when Shannen Doherty left, but Rose McGowan was a good enough replacement and after getting used to Prue not being there I warmed towards Paige. Some of the best episodes IMO came from the beginning of Season 4, Holly Marie Combs should have got some recognition for playing Piper – her acting was brilliant, and seeing Piper grieve for Prue felt real.

I think my favourite season is the first or third, I can’t really decide. I loved Season 3 because everything seemed to go right for the sisters, Piper and Leo finally got married, Pheobe met Cole (not really a good thing) but she loved him, and Prue let her hair loose more. It sucks that she had to die in the end though.

I can’t believe it’s been ten years since the show was created, it doesn’t seem that long. I think after season 6, Brad Kern redeemed himself slightly with episodes like ''Vaya Con Leos'', ''Kill Billie:Vol 2'' and ''Forever Charmed''. I know a lot of people didn’t like the finale but I did, and I thought it was a nice way to end the show. I cried for ages after that episode aired haha I couldn’t believe it was over.

Anyone planning on buying the "Complete Series"? It'll be available in North America November 11, the UK October 27 and Australia November 27, with two choices for the DVDs.

The DVDs will have more extras, including the unaired pilot with Lori Rom.

I ALMOST got the first season today at FYE, but I changed my mind last minute.

I'll buy the series eventually, though.

Why not buy the complete series instead? More extras and they're interviews with cast & crew.

Nobodys posted in here for a bit so...

I Loved charmed. Wasnt a Prue fan tbf. Liked it better when Paige came in and I think it should have finished on a high in like season 6. Not that I didnt like season 7 and 8 but it was just bad for them because the network were being horrible and generally waiting for the show to die. If they would have finished at season 6 or indeed season 5 they would have finished on top.

I did love charmed big time. Still watch it on Living when its on and im around the house.

Eh, I think they were at a high with season 4 and then it all went to hell. It was all about Piper, Leo, and their f'd up kids. Boring...

When Phoebe was with Cole, it was always conflicted because he couldn't let go of his demon ways. With Coop they are more in sync feeling wise. ;)

I think that was the appeal with Cole though. Despite his demonic ways his love for her was always pure. With Coop there was no fight to get him. She had him more or less straight away. I loved the Cole and Phoebe-ness as much as Leo and Piper. God i can remember how badly I wanted Dan to get the hell out of the way. LOL.

Phoebe and Cooop are like one person, I guess you could say psyhcically connected, which I liked. Not to mention the actor playing him was way better looking in the hunk deparment then Julian McMahon. :D

Have to say though. Liked the ending but maybe more of an explosive OMG i cant belive that just happened would have been better. Guess the good guys have to win in the end. Or whats the point like.

I tell you what though, Prue and Andy did my head in concerning the couples of charmed. Maybe thats just because I was never a Prue fan.. But I had an issue with her taking control when originally she wanted nothing to do with their heritage.

I've always thought of Piper as the leader of the band (so to speak) - even when Prue was around. She had a presence none of the other sisters had - though I could be biased here (for what reason I can't remember since I haven't watched this show in years).

I agree that the final thing with Billie was terribly anti-climatic. The final few minutes of the series made me cry buckets, though.

Yeah.. I thought the billie idea could have been elevated to a whole new level without her. but ahwell. charmed rocked to the core. I totally loved it. Even in its lesser moments. Totally cool!

I just saw on TV.com that Charmed is the number 17 show of all time right now. These are shows that are still going and have ended. I was like wow! :D Heroes is number 5 of all time, 2 today, 8 this week, 10 this month. The Vampire Diaries is on the list of top 25. Don't get me started on Smallville. :-p

Came across this article a couple of weeks ago about Charmed being turned into a comic book series. Alyssa Milano had tweeted the link on her Twitter page. How reliable this news website is, I have clue, but I thought that I would share it with everyone!

Random thing I saw for all you Charmed fans out there! I was watching the new movie Our Family Wedding with America Ferrara, and I noticed that her family's house in the movie was right across the street from a house that looked exactly like the house across the street from the Halliwell Manor. I looked hard and decided, yep that's the house. This movie was set in L.A. though. But the Halliwell Manor is set on a street of all kinds of homes for movies and TV apparently.

Well as they showed more scenes I came to the conclusion that the family was living in neighbor Dan's house. Haha! And that was confirmed when I saw the Halliwell Manor directly to the right. :-p (Several times). So watch the movie if you want to see for yourself. Just an ironic tidbit.
