Joining a Coven [Q/A, How To]

This thread is to help you to figure out which side to join. First, remember to read the WWD Rules/Guidelines (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=2491).

To a better idea of each side, you can view the FGB (http://fgb.three-inks.net) and ADA (http://fated-circle.org/ada/) forums.

To choose your side, ask yourself these questions-

Do I want to be good [F] or bad [A]?
Do I want to be free to choose different powers at each level along with bonus powers? [F]
Do I want to chooose a species and acquire the powers for the species at each level along with selected bonus powers? [A]
Do I want to have fun? [F/A]
Am I in this just to fill the profile field? [WR]
Have I read the FGB/ADA Rules/Guidelines? [F/A]


Key

[F] - Forces Of Good {FGB}
[A] - Academy Of Demonic Arts {ADA}
[F/A] - Either Side
[WR] - You're in it for the wrong reason.

After you have chosen your side, go to the WWD Rules/Guidelines (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/showthread.php?t=2491). It has all the details on how to get access to that coven. You should also read this before fighting in the WWD.

Choose your side wisely, remember once you get admitted into a side you'll have to meed certain requirements before you can change again. That meeting those requirements will take you time.

Both sides were created for fun, they aren't there to fill the profile fields or to be a show-off with your level. They're just meant to have fun.

On some of those pages, like the ADA and FGB sites, it says that you need 48 posts to be accepted into a coven. However, under the FAQs page, I didn't read anything along those lines. It actually depends on when the Admin comes on line and can get to the PMs. I myself don't get online until the evenings. All that is needed is patience it doesn't take a long time (meaning days).

Why can I no longer see the FGB?

There is no apparent reason why you wouldn't be able to see FGB since you are in the FGB members group. However is it possible you are looking at the wrong place? We have changed things a bit since October 2006 so though FGB isn't shown on the index page it is shown on the Wresting With Demons (http://www.theprophecy.net/forumdisplay.php?f=7) forum. You should be able to see both FGB and ADA there, though you are only allowed to post in FGB being an FGB member.

I want to send a pm to join the FGB, but i accidentally enabled the ability to send or recieve pms, and I tried to edit but it wouldn't let me so what should I do?

You enabled the ability to send PMs? That would be a good thing then if you enabled. Means you could send the PMs then. You can't cancel PMs that you send if that's what you really mean. Once it's sent, it's sent.

I changed in your profile is to recieve PMs. You should be able to send and recieve the PMs that are sent to tyou. I didn't see anything wrong with the sending of PMs. I looked at your profile and there are no restrictions set in place for you.

Another way to check is to go to your own profile, and there should be a section titled Coven Alignment. If it says FGB or ADA next to that, then you have joined that coven :nod:

Oh, I still see it for everyone so I didn't realize members don't see it anymore. Do you at least see the "Coven Alignment: FGB" in your own profile then? ( if thats a Guide/Warlord only thing too then I'm out of ideas. :\)

Go to your profile and if it says FGB in bold at the bottom under coven then you're in. Or try posting somewhere in FGB where you can post OOC and then you'll know. It's good to have a new member.

Well it says FGB for me, so I'm assuming I've been granted access. I just want to make sure, since it doesn't say FGB-T or anything like that.

Um, I don't know if I've already asked this but, if I wanted to join the FGB would I be able to do it as a Trainee of the ADA?

No, at trainee level you can only be on one side of the RPG. Once you reach level two you can have a character on both sides of the RPG.

I have a question. I was a member on Ctp but I wasn't active for a few years now. Since you all brought it here on the board. I was wonder how do member recollect themselves with two user names? Can there be a combination in two memberships or not? And how does it work on this board with rules and policies?

I would assume it is too late to have your CTP account merged with your account on here, since all that was done already and most accounts on TP might have been deleted already. Do you know your user name on CTP? It is possible to get your level back if you remember it and there's proof of it (that the Guides/Warlords might have.)

Depending on the amount of time that's passed since you were last active, your records may have been lost. Also, both sides have undergone a lot of changes in terms of powers and whatnot. It would probably be easiest to start off as a Trainee and re-familiarise yourself with everything. You'll find it's not too difficult to work one's way back up.

Okay, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

So I was apart of FGB since 2003 until I stopped playing the game about two years ago...now I'm back and want to re-start from scratch. Only after 5 years or so, I'm tired of FGB and would like to join ADA. I'm wondering if this is possible. I know that you guys once did have an opportunity for people to switch over if they wanted, but I don't know if that still stands.

That should be okay, since you've been gone for so long. Just request to join the WWD - ADA group [here (http://www.midnight-shadows.org/profile.php?do=editusergroups)], then PM one of the Warlords to grant you access to that group, while also PMing either myself or another Guide to remove you from the WWD - FGB group for now, just so that you don't have posting/membership access to both forums until you reach the level that allows that. ;)
